Because Feelings Matter #26: “I Know There Is A Place For Me In This World”

Confident, independent, adventurer and explorer: these are the words Izzat Zaid uses to describe herself. But it has not always been easy for her to balance these traits against society’s conventions and expectations, especially in the high-pressure environment of university studies and work. On this episode of Because Feelings Matter, Izzat shares how being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult gave her the lens through which to view her unique differences, and also to figure out where she would fit in a largely neurotypical world.

Every mental health struggle has a story behind it. ‘Because Feelings Matter’ is a series that brings you the stories of people and their mental health issues. This series is produced in collaboration with Thrive Well.

If you need to talk about your emotional problems, do look for local support within your community, or call helplines like: Talian HEAL at 15555, MIASA's 24-hour helpline at 1-800-180066, or Befrienders KL at 03 7627 2929.
