Because Feelings Matter #31: Diary of a Work-From-Home Dad

In ‘Diary of a Work-From-Home Dad’, illustrator and comic artist Mohammad Yazid Kamal Baharin pulls no punches when it comes to telling the story of raising two very special girls: a strong-willed firstborn, and a secondborn with Smith-Magenis syndrome, a rare genetic disease. This episode of Because Feelings Matter explores Zid’s happy, sad, frustrating, and comedic experiences in parenting, from the darkest moments to the small joys. Find out more about Zid’s book on his website.

Because Feelings Matter’ is a series that brings you the stories of people and their mental health issues. These stories aim to normalise conversations about mental health, and to show that it’s okay to struggle emotionally and psychologically, but more importantly, to reach out for help. This series is produced in collaboration with Thrive Well.

This segment talks about self-harm and suicide, and may be a difficult topic for some listeners. If you need to talk about it, do look for local support within your community, or call helplines like: Talian HEAL at 15555, MIASA's 24-hour helpline at 1-800-820066, or Befrienders KL at 03 7627 2929.
