Motherhood brings with it a complexity of mental health issues, but what about the period leading up to conceiving a baby? And what if it takes a woman years to get pregnant? What kind of anxieties does she have to silently manage, amid societal norms that put the pressure of child-bearing on women? On this episode of ‘Because Feelings Matter’, we speak to Nurul Zulkifli, co-founder of Mimpikita, on the emotional journey of her decade-long struggle to have a baby.
Every mental health struggle has a story behind it. ‘Because Feelings Matter’ is a series that brings you the stories of people and their mental health issues. These stories aim to normalise conversations about mental health, and to show that it’s okay to struggle emotionally and psychologically, but more importantly, to reach out for help. This series is produced in collaboration with Thrive Well.
