The enteric nervous system is found within our gastrointestinal tract and is able to function independently of our brain and spinal cord. On this episode of Brain Waves, neurogeneticist Dr Azlina Ahmad Annuar is joined by enteric neuroscientist Dr Chalystha Lee to discuss what we know about the enteric nervous system, and how its function differs among people diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
