Cancer Epigenetics

Dr. Sri Ganesh Kalimuthu, Consultant Histopathologist

13-Jun-13 16:00

Cancer Epigenetics

Epigenetics is the study of changes in gene expression or cellular phenotype, caused by mechanisms other than changes in the underlying DNA sequence. What this might mean in terms of cancer epigenetics is monumental - research is ongoing to see if we can identify what triggers a change in oncogene, the gene that has the most potential to cause cancer. It might change the way cancer treatment is approached in the future and perhaps even lead to a cure.

Dr. Sri Ganesh guides us through this complicated topic.
