COVID-19 Vaccines: Are We Ready? (Part 2 of 2)

Malaysia has so far purchased Covid-19 vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca, China’s SinoVac Life Sciences, and through the global COVAX Facility to cover more than 40 per cent of the population. The first batch of vaccines is scheduled to arrive in February, but are we ready with the complex infrastructure that has to be in place for the storage, transportation and distribution of the vaccines? Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam, Former Minister of Health Malaysia, and Emeritus Prof PT Thomas, Executive Dean, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Taylor’s University, discuss what this vaccine infrastructure would look like, and what the impending arrival of the Pfizer vaccine means for Malaysians.

Listen to Part 1 on how a new vaccine is approved.
