A painful nerve damage can be caused by chronically high blood sugar and diabetes. Diabetic neuropathy actually accounts for hospitalisation more frequently than other complications of diabetes, but it is often forgotten due to the nature of the disease. Consultant Endocrinologist Dr Zanariah Hussein explains the signs of diabetic neuropathy and why diabetics should take foot care more seriously
