Early Detection of Breast Cancer Saves Lives

Breast cancer is one of the most treatable cancers, especially when it is detected early. And with greater accessibility to screening tests like mammograms, as well as greater awareness about breast self-exams, early detection of breast cancer has improved over the decades. But with statistics indicating a significant number of Malaysian women diagnosed with breast cancer in the late stages, have we done enough? What are the barriers to early detection of breast cancer, and what questions and misconceptions about breast cancer screening and diagnosis that women continue to have? We find out from consultant clinical oncologist Dr Jennifer Leong from Sunway Medical Centre.
