Health & Living Jr 2019 Part 2 of 4: The Allergy Epidemic

Allergies among children are on the rise, including skin, respiratory and food allergies. Is the allergy epidemic due to an imbalance in our gut microbiome, or are our environments too sanitised? Consultant Paediatric ENT Dr Priatharisiny Velayutham, Consultant Paediatric Respiratory Physician Dr Norzila Mohamed Zainudin, and Consultant Paediatric Dermatologist Dr Heah Sheau Szu, from Sunway Medical Centre, discuss how to protect our children from unexpected allergic reactions, especially when they are away from home. This is an edited recording of the panel discussion that was held at the BFM Health & Living Jr 2019 by AIA Vitality.
