It is estimated that at any one time, more than 1.4 million people worldwide are suffering from infections acquired in hospitals. This is a serious threat to public health, especially considering multi- drug or antibiotic-resistant organisms are on the rise. In today’s show, we look at why our hand hygiene is the single most effective method in reducing the transmission of infections in hospitals.
