Health Minister Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad has announced that the Health Ministry is at the final stage of discussions to implement an insurance scheme for the B40, which will be announced in Budget 2019. Earlier this month, we spoke to Deputy Health Minister Dr Lee Boon Chye to get more details on the scheme. We sit down with Prof Dato' Dr Syed Mohamed Aljunid, Professor of Health Economics and Public Health Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, to explore whether social health insurance is a viable way forward for Malaysia.
