NCD Chronicles #10: Lupus, The Disease With A Thousand Faces

Many of us would’ve first heard of lupus when Selena Gomez shared in 2015 that she has been diagnosed with the disease. An autoimmune disorder with no cure, people living with lupus - or medically known as systemic lupus erythematosus - have to find ways to manage their symptoms which can range from milder rashes to the point of organ damage. On this episode of NCD Chronicles, we speak to Dr Fauziah Raji, a retired lecturer who was diagnosed with SLE almost 20 years ago, about how it’s affected her and her family as well as the challenges she’s faced along the way, and consultant rheumatologist Dr Heselynn Hussein on how much treatment has changed over the years to improve quality of life for people living with SLE.
