Doctor in the House: Detecting Oral Cancer – There’s An App For That

Dr George Lee returns to discuss the latest medical news. Expect deep insights delivered with generous humour. The early signs and symptoms of oral cancer can often be mistaken for other conditions. Can we improve the diagnosis so that treatment does not have to be delayed? We talk to Prof Dr Cheong Sok Ching from Cancer Research Malaysia; and Assoc Prof Dr Chan Chee Seng from the Department of Artificial Intelligence, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, University of Malaya – two researchers in Malaysia who have just been awarded a grant by the Medical Research Council UK to develop an AI-enabled mobile phone app for early detection of oral cancer.
