Psychiatry Series: Community Advocates

We often discuss mental health through a purely medical lens, focusing on treatment and therapies. But when you take the healthcare system out of the picture, you are left with a person who is struggling to live as normal a life as possible within their community. YB Michelle Ng, Subang Jaya ADUN and founder of Subang Jaya Care Warriors joins consultant psychiatrist Assoc Prof Dr Amer Siddiq bin Amer Nordin to discuss how community groups could complement existing mental health services in helping people to cope with mental health issues.
