World Heart Day 2021: Pacemakers Provide The Beat

Thump thump, or beep beep - whether you’re feeling your heartbeat with your hand, or measuring it on an ECG, a normal heart rhythm should be represented by regular beats. When there is a problem with our heart rhythm, the heart can beat too fast, too slow, or irregularly. Pacemakers are devices that have been around for more than 60 years to regulate the heart rhythm. We have a conversation with Datuk Dr Razali Omar, Consultant Electrophysiologist & Cardiologist, Cardiac Vascular Sentral KL, to look at who would need pacemakers, and how the technology of these devices have advanced over the decades.

This is the second of a 2-part series with Cardiac Vascular Sentral KL, in conjunction with World Heart Day 2021. Listen to Part 1 here.
