Affluenza: A Disease for the Rich

A court in Fort Worth, Texas recently gave no jail time to 16 year-old Ethan Couch for killing four people while driving drunk. An expert witness testified Couch suffered from “affluenza,” a combination of affluence and influenza, because he was too rich, spoiled and can’t differentiate right from wrong. Dr. Johnben Loy helps us understand the link between wealth and parenting, and whether affluenza is a real condition.
