Courageous Grieving

In February, 17 people were killed during a mass shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School, in Parkland, Florida. What happened after that - where student survivors organized themselves and mobilized others into a movement calling for tougher gun controls - was described as “courageous grieving” by the media. Dr Anasuya Jegathesan, a counsellor who specializes in grief counselling, explains what the term means and whether it describes something new.
