Discrimination towards People with Disabilities

One issue that did not garner the attention it deserved during the campaigning period for GE14 is discrimination faced by people with disabilities. The National Early Childhood Intervention Council (NECIC), a coalition of parents, practitioners and professionals from NGOs and government agencies, are pressing the Pakatan Harapan federal government to embrace the concept of an inclusive Malaysia. Inclusion is the idea that people with disabilities should not face discrimination - whether in schools, at work or during health service provision. Ng Lai Thin from NECIC explains why the problem persists and how it can be reversed.
