A Review Website for Migrant Workers

Migrant Recruitment Advisor (MRA) is a project by the International Trade Union Confederation. It is an employment review platform - inspired by Trip Advisor, the travel website - that offers first-hand reviews about working conditions and recruitment practices. These reviews are written by migrant workers for prospective migrants looking to work in a foreign country. MRA’s global coordinator Ira Rachmawati and Lindu Livan, the coordinator in Malaysia, explain why they chose Malaysia, Indonesia, Nepal and the Philippines as the four pilot countries to launch this website, and the challenges of unionizing in the digital age.
