Manju Appathurai, Fur Kids Farms | Dennis Lee, Fur Kids Farms

Fur Kids Farm

Fur Kids Farm started in an unorthodox way when Ruff, a golden retriever, showed up at Manju Appathurai’s doorsteps. Noticing symptoms of abuse the Ruff’s body, Manju nursed him back to health and proceeded to adopt him, no mean feat considering she was terrified of dogs and cats. Almost five years and more than 300 rescued dogs and cats later, we speak to Manju, and Dennis Lee, about their quest to set up an animal sanctuary for dogs and cats who are handicapped, mentally disabled and old.
