Malaysia has been providing accessibility in the built environment since the country signed the ‘Proclamation on the Full Participation and Equality of People with Disabilities in the Asia-Pacific Region’ in 1994. However, Malaysia has faced limitations in enforcing legislation pertaining to accessibility. Joining us to highlight the gaps in Malaysia's regulations and to illustrate the importance of Accessible Design infrastructure for disabled people is Dr. Naziaty Binti Mohd Yaacob, a Senior Lecturer at UM's Department Architecture and a person living with disabilities herself.
