Before Ali Raza took on a regional leadership position for a private education group in Southeast Asia, he was advising former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif on education reform in Islamabad. He tells us the story of how an engineer end up in the education sector, the challenges of implementing large scale reform in a politically charged portfolio, as well as how the country that produced Malala Yousafzai is also a country where only 58% of the population is literate.
