Baalbek: A Geohistorical Investigation in Roman Phoenicia

Dr Ron Choong is an interdisciplinary scholar based at The Center for Interdisciplinary Research in New York. For close to three decades now, Dr Choong has embarked on a herculean project of visiting all 29 countries along the Old Silk Road to understand the evolution of religious beliefs along this ancient trade route. In this follow up to a presentation he gave in Malaysia last year, Dr Choong explains what he sought to understand by traveling to the city of Baalbek in Lebanon, what the 15,000 year old petroglyphs discovered in Azerbaijan say about our reverence for the supernatural, and why all these matter to us living in the contemporary world.
