Rights Up #1: Defining Online Harassment

Over the next six weeks, we will be presenting a series of shows in collaboration with People Against Cyber Threats and Harassment, or PeopleACT. These episodes are intended to share stories, lessons and statistics on the many facets of online harassment in Malaysia. This includes hateful comments, shaming, intimidation as well as death and rape threats. Today, with the help of lawyer Louis Liaw and Serene Lim from Empower, we discuss why it is hard to define online harassment, why women are twice as likely to be on the receiving end, and whether it is helpful to look at this issue through a gendered lens.
