Blind Beggars: To Give or not to Give?

The video of Uncle Luke, the blind beggar who was filmed holding up traffic in Bangsar and refusing to budge unless he was given RM20, went viral recently on social media before being taken down. Users commented about having seen the same person in other areas and experiencing similar strong arm tactics, leading to speculation that he is a con artist. Clearing things up for us is Teoh Jouyin, an occupational therapist and disability rights advocate. Joining her to give his perspective is Tan Boon Kiat, who lost his sight when he was 24 years old.
