Political Financing in Malaysia

How do Members of Parliament or State Assemblymen raise the money needed to fund election campaigns? In light of the revelation that RM2.6 billion was deposited into the private bank account of Dato Seri Najib Razak as a political donaion, an effort spearheaded by G25 and a coalition of 70 NGOs came up with a guideline on how we can finance politics in a more transparent and accountable manner. Explaning these proposals is Professor Dr. Terence Gomez  from Universiti Malaya’s Department of Administrative Studies and Politics.
