The Malaysia Teacher Prize 2023 - Recognising the Power of Teachers

The Malaysia Teacher Prize (MTP) returns, set to celebrate exceptional educators in Malaysia, and is the first of its kind in our country to recognise teachers on a national scale, and provide a platform to scale their best practices. Back for its second year, the competition is organised by Pemimpin GSL with the support of YTL Foundation, and is a localised version of the world renowned Global Teacher Prize. We speak to Cheryl Ann Fernando (CEO, Pemimpin GSL) and also two exceptional teachers, Anuthra Sirisena, a teacher from SMJK Chung Hwa in Tenom, Sabah, who was the winner of the 2022 Malaysia Teacher Prize, and Aishah bt Mohd Hamdan, a teacher with SMK Raja Permaisuri Bainun, Perak and one of the Top 5 Finalists of the MTP 2022, about their experience of participating in the 2022 prize cycle, and how the MTP helps appreciate, celebrate and highlight outstanding teachers in Malaysia.
