Dads, Sons, and Hugs

A US right-wing political commentator tweeted a photo of presidential candidate Joe Biden embracing and kissing his son, calling it inappropriate and “creepy”. The online backlash, however, was unexpectedly sweet and heartwarming: thousands of men responded with pictures of themselves hugging or kissing their fathers. We discuss why physical demonstrations of love between fathers and sons is still relatively unusual, and what these acts can do to improve the mental and emotional health of men.
