Why it’s Important to Protect the Identities of Minors in the Media

A few days ago, Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development posted a photo on her Instagram exposing the identity of an underage child of a murder victim. The photo was also published on the front page of Utusan Malaysia. Now, both Utusan Malaysia and YB Siti Zailah are facing major backlash. We discuss why it’s important to protect the identities of minors in the media.
