Recently, Wanita MCA announced its latest initiative to combat domestic violence -- an 8 day Karate course for women. This announcement has received flak from women’s rights groups and opposition politicians, who criticised Wanita MCA for placing the responsibility to deal with domestic abuse on women/survivors. We speak to an expert on why learning martial arts is not the way to combat domestic abuse.
