佩通坦于12月16日首次以泰国首相身份访问马来西亚,此行旨在深化两国关系与促进区域合作。她与安华展开双边会谈,目标在2027年前将双边贸易提升至300亿美元,并签署了文化、遗产及橡胶产业合作的两份谅解备忘录。此外,双方也讨论了铁路衔接、边境基础设施等议题,力求加强区域连通性。备受关注的是,安华任命佩通坦的父亲、前泰相塔辛为他的非正式顾问,引发争议,但政府强调此顾问团仅具指导性质。
