Free And Modest

“We decide what we wear, men shouldn’t decide for us” - this was a phrase uttered by Aheda Zanetti after she launched what went on to be known all over the world as the Muslim woman's freedom to be confident and comfortable during sports activities: The burquini. From the outfit's humble beginning in a tiny flat in Sydney, Australia to its plans to further expand worldwide, we spoke to the Aheda Zanetti, founder, director and designer about the burquini swimwear range, as well as her ongoing design exhibition at the Islamic Arts Museum in Kuala Lumpur.
