The Malaysian Mental Health Association has warned, depression will be the number one ranked disability in the world by 2020. It’s currently the 2nd ranked disability, but is expected to overtake cardiovascular disease in less than four years time. The things is, depression tends to affect people in their prime working years and may last a lifetime if untreated. But with early recognition, intervention, and support, most employees can overcome clinical depression. Clinical Psychologist Joel Low tells us just how employers can do this, to help their most precious commodity - their staff pick up from where they left off.
