The Return of Analogue Audio

There was a time when audio cassettes were the in-thing; back when Mix Tapes were on actual tapes and too many rewinds meant you could lose your favorite songs...forever! National Audio Company is the last cassette factory in the United States, and to everyone’s surprise, they’re making more cassettes now than they have in the last couple of decades or so. Cassettes are back in cult fashion, and they’re gaining popularity thanks to mainstream pop-culture. We speak to Steve Stepp, president of the 47-year-old National Audio Company on how and why these retro reels are suddenly back in business.
