Going Global - Sustainable Alternative Lighting (SALt), Philippines

Up to 20 percent of the population in the Philippines live with minimal access to power grids and electricity. Looking to address this severe gap in light equality, engineer and Greenpeace member Aisa Mijeno designed a sustainable and cost effective lamp, running on just water and salt. SALt has received global recognition as an innovative and efficient solution to a worldwide problem; Barack Obama recently moderated a panel on which both Aisa and Jack Ma sat to discuss the role of business in affecting environmental and social change.
