Merdeka Special - Proudly Made in Malaysia

Entrepreneurship back then was born out of necessity. For this Merdeka Special, we follow the journey of a Malaysian businessman, Wong Shang Teck who founded Kelang Leather Industries 35 years ago. After years of hardship, the family business is the very last leather tannery in Malaysia today. However, Shang Teck is skeptical about the sunset industry that they are in. But Alec Wong, who is the second generation of this business has hopes to build proudly “Made in Malaysia” leather products moving forward.
