SST Basics, Key Compliance Mechanisms, and March 2024 Changes

From March 1st, Malaysia’s Service Tax rate rose from 6% to 8% for most sectors, along with some other key changes. Today on P&L, we take a step back with Thenesh Kannaa, Executive Director of Tratax, and remind business owners and leaders about the basics of the SST and recap the recent changes.

Among other things, we get into key elements of service tax compliance and the cost of non-compliance and mistakes, but also the details of the March changes and how wide the impacts are.
