The spread of fake news during a pandemic like COVID-19 can lead to bigger troubles than just mere social mischief. The proliferation of social media platforms and messaging apps amplifies the problem of news going viral almost instantaneously. These tend to have a more lasting and deeper impact on society and can lead to legal troubles, and in some cases, even police arrest. We speak to KC from Deloitte Malaysia about discerning the real from fake.
