On 15th November 2013, the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) came into force in Malaysia with the objective of protecting the personal data of individuals with respect to commercial transactions. So how has it affected businesses since then? What has been some of the challenges and what are steps that companies should take to be more proactive? Professor Abu Bakar Munir, Faculty of Law, University of Malaya talks about how well has the PDPA been doing and what lies ahead for the future.
