Can Malaysia Aspire To A Shared History?

In recent months, politicians including former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad, and Kedah Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Muhammad Sanusi bin Md Nor, have referenced history while making statements that many have deemed inflammatory. Why have they been doing this, and more crucially - what does it say about the ways history have been both taught and understood in Malaysia? What can we do to fix that? We discuss this, and more, with independent historian Dr Ranjit Singh Malhi, and open up our lines as well, to hear what listeners have to say.
