There has been a surge in hate speech in our country since and during the elections, with various groups calling for political parties to help with relieving tension. How did racial and religious hate speech become so deeply entrenched in our politics, and what can be done to undo the deep seated effects it has had on the country? And what role should the authorities play in relieving tensions that have flared post elections? We explore.
