How Prepared Should MPs Be In Parliament?

Deputy Minister of Education, Lim Hui Ying was recently reprimanded for failing to prepare a response to a query during the Minister’s question time in the Dewan Rakyat. First, we talk about the mechanisms that exist within Dewan Rakyat to keep MPs in line, both in terms of being prepared, and not misbehaving. And then later on, we speak to a former MP to talk about why preparation matters, and how much we should expect from representatives and ministers.
