Should Malaysia Move Towards Being A Welfare State?

With rising costs of living continuing to be a concern, we look at whether we should be moving towards becoming a welfare state. First, economist Geoffrey Williams joins us to talk about the pros and cons of this. Then, we hear from various stakeholders on whether this is the way to go.

Some of the stakeholders we heard from include:

- Rafiq Shahmie, vice-president of International Islamic University Malaysia's Student Union

- Muhamad Nadhir Abdul Nasir, Independent Researcher of Disability Issues

- Prof Dr Shahrul Bahyah Kamaruzzaman, Consultant Geriatrician

- S. Pasupathi, Director, MySkills Foundation
