Top 5 at 5: Govt Gives Nod To The Separation of AG and Public Prosecutor

It's been two years of study and review, but the the government has now agreed to fully separate the powers of the attorney-general and public prosecutor. This is a win, marking a major step toward judicial independence. We speak to Lim Wei Jiet on its significance.

Other stories we covered:

• Aung San Suu Kyi's worsening health: Suu Kyi's son has told several media outlets that his mother is gravely ill, and called for her immediate release so she can get medical help. But the junta is not relenting, and has called his claims "fabricated". We speak to Debbie Stothard, Founder of ALTSEAN-Burma about this.
• New PM for France: Sébastien Lecornu becomes France’s third prime minister in a year, stepping into a storm of budget battles and street protests. We hear thoughts from Dr Nathan Sperber, a French scholar and associate professor in International Relations at Tongji University.
• Reasons why Muslim couples divorce: A new SIS Forum report reveals that communication breakdowns, domestic violence, and financial neglect are key drivers of divorce among Muslim couples. We speak to Ameena Siddiqi about why these patterns persist, and what reforms could help couples build safer, more equitable marriages.
• Conservative influencer Charlie Kirk shot dead: Far-right influencer and staunch pro-gun advocate Charlie Kirk was shot dead during a live campus debate, moments after defending gun rights. We look into the reactions this has ignited.
