Top 5 at 5: Underemployed Malaysians On The Rise

A report by the World Bank revealed that more than a quarter of Malaysia's degree holders are overqualified for their jobs. We reach out to Alyssa Farha Jasmin, economist at the World Bank under the Social Protection and Jobs Global Practice to hear her thoughts on the struggles faced by young graduates in the local job market amid a shortage of specialised jobs, and its implications for the future of job seekers in Malaysia.

· Overload of corporate delegates at COP29: The 151 corporate delegates sent by Malaysia, nearly double the 89 representatives from government ministries and agencies, which environmental watchdog RimbaWatch says undermines the integrity of climate negotiations. We speak to Adam Farhan, director of RimbaWatch, to hear more about why this is problematic.

· New MyKad coming soon: The new and updated generation of MyKad is coming soon, with its development currently being in its final stages. But what does this mean for our personal data, in terms of the data migration process from the old MyKad to the new one? Tong Lai Ling, a technology, multimedia and telecommunications lawyer weighs in on this.

· 45 Hong Kong activists detained: 45 individuals from pro-democracy group, Hong Kong 47, have been found guilty of subversion under a controversial national security law. We speak to Elaine Pearson, Asia Director at Human Rights Watch for her thoughts on the sentences and its possible consequences.
