Car Theft - Between Stories and Stats

Ever heard or known a person who’s lost a car, a motorbike or any kind of vehicle? Statistics dating back to 2005 show that car-theft rates in Malaysia used to be so staggering that one vehicle was said to be stolen every 24 minutes. This trend continued up till last year when efforts from police officials seemed to have finally brought the figures down for the first time in 5 years. But why is public perception still so negative?

This is a report by Wong Yu Han.
