On July 9th, some 186 million eligible voters in Indonesia will decide who will run Southeast Asia's largest economy for the next five years. Both presidential candidates -- the popular governor of Jakarta, Joko Widodo, and former army general Prabowo Subianto -- have outlined a series of populist policies but neither has laid out a detailed economic plan.
Today on Current Affairs we take a closer look at Jokonomics and Prabowonomics, in the context of the Indonesian economy.
Melisa Idris speaks to Wellian Wiranto, economist at OCBC Bank, and Bharat Joshi, investment manager at Aberdeen Asset Management.
