Budget 2015 – Supplementary Questions 2

We continue our coverage of the issue of Supplementary Budget with a view from a member of the Federal opposition. Prior to the year 2000, the government was prudent with their financial management, in some years spending less than they had budgeted for. Since then, the amount of Supplementary Budgets requested have varied from RM 1.4 billion to RM 27.4 billion. Tony Pua points to poor financial planning, the hazards of majority control in Parliament and their lack of 'teeth' for over-sight mechanisms like the Public Accounts Committee that he is a member of.
