The CSI300 is down 5.5% this year, a surprise since China was supposed to be the big outperformer on the back of the reopening theme. Since then macroeconomic data has been disappointing. Not helping is the property sector meltdown led by Evergrande and now Country Garden which used to be ranked among the largest developers. But was Golden Week a turning point for the economy and its equity market? Tan Teng Boo, CEO of Capital Dynamics Group, tells us.
