Turkey: Averted Meltdown, Concerns Linger

Overnight, Turkey announced that it is ratcheting up retaliatory tariffs. This is Just days after President Trump tweeted his decision to double tariffs on Turkish steel and aluminum.

Also, Qatar came to Turkey's aid with a pledge to invest US$15 billion in the country to help it ride out its currency crisis.

Following this latest development, Vishnu shares his insights with us on how he sees this Turkish crisis playing out in the markets.

He also shares his thoughts on whether he thinks the Turkey crisis would have a contagion effect on emerging markets eventually.

We also talk about Indonesia’s central bank raising its benchmark interest rate a fourth time since May.

Vishnu also shares his thoughts on the upcoming 2Q GDP announcement for Malaysia that is due out tomorrow.
